Anna Reading (known as Amza) writes about the three R’s – people who refuse, resist, and rejoice. Born in the Midlands, UK, a comprehensive school nurtured her love of books and writing. She read English and Politics at the University of York, followed by an MA in Women’s Studies, and a PhD on gender in Eastern Europe. She has worked as a freelance journalist, playwright and academic, writing and editing seven non-fiction books, with plays performed in Poland, Ireland, India, and the UK. She completed her first novel while writing her latest academic book on autistic people’s art, films, and memoirs. She lives in South London with her partner and their two inspirational teenagers.

Anna Reading is a Professor of Media and Cultural Memory at King’s College, University of London, where she researches and teaches on the cultural memories of Roma and genocide, Eastern Europe, gender, and activism.
