Alanna Skuse

Dr. Alanna Skuse is a lecturer in Renaissance literature, who specialises in writing about the body and medicine. She has written books on cancer in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, experiences of surgery and disability, and self-harm in Shakespearean literature. She also writes for History Today magazine and the Wellcome Stories blog. Her debut trade book uncovers the untold stories of Renaissance medicine, and is due to be published by OneWorld in 2025.
