Vanda Wilcox

Vanda Wilcox is a historian of twentieth century Italy and Europe, specialising in imperial and military history. She has lived and worked in Rome, Paris and Milan since earning a DPhil from the University of Oxford in 2006. She has taught at a number of American liberal arts colleges in Europe, and is currently the co-editor-in-chief of the academic journal First World War Studies. Her scholarly publications include Morale and the Italian Army in the First World War (Cambridge UP, 2016),  and The Italian Empire and the Great War (Oxford UP, 2021). She is currently writing a general history of the Italian colonial empire in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries (John Murray/Basic Books).
