Nina is a writer and script editor who studied English Literature at Sheffield University and Acting at East 15. She studied improvisation with the Free Association, Showstoppers and Monkey Toast and trained in Clown with Phillippe Gaulier. She is a member of the Criterion New Writers and the School of Hightide.
Nina is the winner of the ETPEP Playwriting Award 2021 and was one of 12 writers to be chosen for the Channel 4 Screenwriting Course 2022. She has signed a 2-book deal with Simon & Schuster and her debut novel Goddesses was released in 2023. Goddesses has also been optioned for TV.
Nina’s first play Delete was longlisted for the PapaTango Award, featured on BBC Radio 4 and adapted for audio by Wireless Theatre. Her second play Service won the ETPEP Award and was placed in the top 2% of BBC Scriptroom Drama submissions. Recent commissions include writing the BBC Sounds series Mortem, and Dr Who: The Turn of the Tides International Women’s Day Special audio series.
Nina is a proud Londoner of mixed heritage who speaks four languages. She comes from a musical family and was named after her Yiayia and Nina Simone. She also works with young people as a tutor and mentor and is passionate about helping them fulfil their potential.
