Melissa Lee-Houghton is the author of poetry collections A Body Made of You, Beautiful Girls and Sunshine. She is also the author of Cumshot in D Minor, a poetry pamphlet, and The Faithful Look Away, a pamphlet edition of a Northern Writers’ Award-winning short story. Her first novel, That Lonesome Valley, was longlisted for the Republic of Consciousness prize. She was recognised as one of the Next Generation Poets and subsequently shortlisted for the Costa Book Award, the Forward Prizes, the Ted Hughes Award, and won a Somerset Maugham Award for her poetry. Two short stories – Spells for Love and Inertia, were produced for BBC Radio 4.
