I joined Watson, Little in September 2025 after 6 years in US government consulting. While my professional background is in international affairs and security/defence, I’ve always been an avid reader from managing a bookstagram to co-hosting a literary podcast.
I read across a variety of genres and could be labelled as a ‘mood reader’. For fiction, I enjoy commercial, bookclub, romance, mysteries and thrillers. Some of my favourite romances include Lyla Sage’s Rebel Blue Range series, THIS YEAR’S FOR ME AND YOU by Emily Bell, and anything Sophie Kinsella (especially her earlier works). I also love some chaos like THE MOST FAMOUS GIRL IN THE WORLD by Iman Hariri-Kia.
When it comes to fantasy, I’m looking for immersive worldbuilding, strong female characters (would I want to be friends with them?), and ultimately, the next book to obsess over. I love Sabaa Tahir, the THRONE OF GLASS series, THE VERY SECRET SOCIETY OF IRREGULAR WITCHES, and most recently enjoyed A LANGUAGE OF DRAGONS.
Having grown up on classic dystopian reads (THE HUNGER GAMES, DIVERGENT, and THE MAZE RUNNER to name a few), I enjoy a compelling dystopian world with a political punch. Some of my favourite tropes include: love triangles, enemies to lovers (but they are actual enemies), rival to lovers, and forced proximity. I love an academia setting, multiple POVs, and I’m keen to read about older characters (30+), who are ethnically diverse.
I am not open to submissions but work closely on Megan’s list.
