Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher pens new book for Transworld
Monday 27th July 2020

Transworld has acquired a new book by former Liverpool FC defender and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, The Greatest Games.
Editorial director Henry Vines acquired world rights from James Wills at Watson, Little on behalf of Buzz 16 Productions.
In The Greatest Games, Carragher explores the games that have shaped his love of football – as a player, as a pundit and as a lifelong fan.
The book will include insights into his own playing career and forensic analysis of the game, delivered with his “trademark humour and honesty”, according to Transworld. Carragher will also be speaking to former teammates, rivals and managers to shine fresh light on some of the greatest matches played.
Vines said: “Jamie has a rare talent for combining engaging stories with razor-sharp analysis. Add to that the fact he has had either a starring role or a pitch-side seat to some of the greatest football matches of the last 40 years, and you have a very special book. With so many of us finding a new appreciation for the value football brings to our lives, there couldn’t be a better time for The Greatest Games and the conversations it will inspire.”
Carragher said: “I want to look back at those special games that, as a kid, made me fall in love with the game; tell some of the untold stories about the big games I was lucky enough to play in; and reflect on the great matches that, since retiring, I’ve been privileged to witness as a pundit and a fan.”
Wills said: “The Greatest Games has the best analysis, the funniest anecdotes and the finest insights from legends of the game. Every football fan who enjoys watching Jamie on Sky Sports, or listens to his excellent podcast [“The Greatest Game”], is going to love this book.”
The Greatest Games will be published in hardback, audio and e-book on 12th November 2020.
