Jean Adamson, creator of TOPSY AND TIM, celebrates 90th birthday

Topsy and Tim creator, Jean Adamson MBE, celebrates her 90th birthday today!

Since 1960 over 140 TOPSY AND TIM titles have been published, selling upwards of 21 million copies worldwide. The series has been made in to an animated TV series of over 60 episodes and a BAFTA award winning live-action version which is now on it’s third series on CBeebies.

Sharon Cullen, publishing director at Ladybird, said: ‘We are so delighted to celebrate the 90th birthday of one of our greatest authors and illustrators, Jean Adamson, who, over the years, has guided many children in their first experiences with TOPSY AND TIM. And being born on a leap day means that, at just 22, she continues to be young at hear and still full of ideas for the twins’ latest adventures. Everyone here at Ladybird wishes Jean the happiest of birthdays and we look forward to celebrating again with the 60th anniversary of TOPSY AND TIM in 2020.’
